     Overview Outline

FEASTS OF ISRAEL BASED ON THE SEVEN MONTH JEWISH RELIGIOUS CALENDAR

FIRST MONTH FEASTS: Spring Feasts – Speaking of Christ’s first coming

PASSOVER: Exodus 12,13; Lev. 23 – Represents our Primary experience with God – An Egypt Feast before leaving the bondage of Egypt – represents God’s deliverance from sin’s bondage.

The Lamb prepared and sacrificed – Death Angel passes over the children of Israel in Egypt – the blood is painted on the door-posts and lentils, and the firstborn of the Egyptians dies, but Israel spared and delivered
bulletPassover Meal celebrated from year to year until the time of Jesus, Yeshua, and the type is fulfilled in Jesus death, burial and resurrection.
bulletJesus becomes our Passover (Pesach) Lamb – Makes new covenant in His blood at the Passover meal, or last supper
bulletPassover speaks of the power of Jesus’ blood to save us.
bulletPassover experientially speaks of salvation for all believers in Yeshua, Jesus our Messiah.
bulletPassover begins new life in Jesus, old things pass away, all things become new. When a person receives Jesus as their savior, they experience Passover – ransomed from death by His blood.

FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD: Yeast was removed from the Jewish household, all leaven removed speaking of sin and uncleanness. The Jews would remove every trace of yeast from the house before this feast was celebrated.

Unleavened Bread speaks of the Purification Work of the Holy Spirit in our lives to remove sin from our lives.

Israel passes through the Red Sea – down through the waters and Egypt is cut off forever. The Red Sea experience was a "type of baptism" for Israel.

Speaks of sin being removed from the believer’s life – Baptism for the believer, just as Jesus was buried and resurrected, so the believer in Yeshua is buried to his old way of life and resurrected to a new life in Him.

Leaven removed also may speak of the removal of corruption and religious doctrines from the believer’s life.

This is the ongoing work of the Holy Spirit as He purifies us from moral sin, hypocrisy, legalism, denying the miraculous – Getting Egypt out of us! Israel was delivered from Egypt, and after we have been saved the next step in our salvation is water baptism which purifies us of a guilty conscience and getting Egypt out of us.

FEAST OF FIRSTFRUITS – Waving of the sheaves before God

bulletGod’s acceptance of us through Jesus blood – we have been atoned for.
bulletFree Grace – Jesus is our mediator before the Father.
bulletJesus became Firstfruit from the dead through His resurrection.

These first three feasts symbolically correspond to the "Outer Court" of the Tabernacle of Moses. In the Outer Court experience in the Old Covenant, there was the Bronze Altar symbolizing the shedding of blood, the sacrifice for our sin. Sin was judged, just as sin was judged at the cross of Jesus with the shedding of Jesus’ blood instead of the blood of bulls and goats. Then the priests would move to the brass laver, which speaks of cleansing from our daily walk in this world. It also represents the washing of the water of the word, which would be a "type" of baptism or cleansing before we enter the Holy place.

bulletExperiencing these first three feasts could be compared to the 30 fold increase, but it is not a stopping place in our walk.

THIRD MONTH FEAST: PENTECOSTMount Sinai – Exodus 19/ Acts Chapter 2 – This is a Wilderness Feast

SECONDARY EXPERIENCE WITH GOD AFTER 1ST MONTH FEASTS – GOD DOES A NEW THING

bulletAt Sinai God spoke audibly, there was thunder, lightning, wind, fire on the top of the mountain, thick clouds of darkness over Sinai.
bulletGod told Israel to prepare because He would come down to speak to them audibly
bulletThere was a very long trumpet (shofar) blast when the Lord came down on the mountain.
bulletGod’s glory came down – 50 days in the wilderness
bulletFeast that would commemorate Harvest – Early Rain Harvest which would include the wheat, corn, and barley harvest.
bulletThe 120 who waited in Jerusalem experienced the coming of the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost in the Upper Room 50 days after Jesus’ death and resurrection. Jesus spent 40 days appearing after His resurrection, and they waited for 10 days before the pouring out of the Holy Spirit.
bulletThere was the sound of a mighty rushing wind, cloven tongues of fire sat upon their heads, there was shaking, God speaks through new tongues to those who are gathered in Jerusalem from all the nations in their own native tongue as the Spirit gave the utterance.
bulletThe nations were gathered for the traditional celebration of Pentecost, and God came to them in a new way. This was a secondary experience with the Lord after salvation. The 120 were all Baptized in the Holy Spirit. Now the Holy Spirit can speak directly to individual believers, just as when God came down on the mountain to speak with Israel, only now He resides within us.
bulletA Harvest of souls takes place, just as it speaks of the Early Rain with the wheat, corn and barley harvest, now 3000 are added to the number of believers, then 5000, then multiplications of new believers are added to their number daily.
bulletIt is explained as, "This is that which was spoken by the Prophet Joel, that in the last days, God’s spirit would be poured out on all flesh…" This is the beginning of the last days.

THIS FEAST MAY BE COMPARED TO THE "HOLY PLACE" IN THE TABERNACLE OF MOSES WHERE GIFTS WERE GIVEN AND THE ILLUMINATION OF THE HOLY SPIRIT TOOK PLACE WITH THE LAMPSTAND AND THE TABLE OF SHEWBREAD.

A BELIEVER WHO EXPERIENCES PENTECOST MAY BE COMPARED TO RECEIVING THE 60 FOLD INCREASE, BUT ONCE AGAIN, WE ARE NOT TO CAMP AT PENTECOST. ISRAEL WAS TOLD TO LEAVE THE MOUNTAIN AND JOURNEY ON TOWARD CANAAN. WE MUST ALSO CONTINUE ON IN OUR WALK PRESSING INTO THE FULL LIGHT OF DAY…AND THE FULL REVELATION OF THE GLORY OF GOD…,.TABERNACLES.

During the Fourth through the Sixth months there was NO Rain, and no other prescribed Feasts.

Symbolically – speaks of the Dark Ages, when the Light of the Gospel nearly went out in the Earth. Many plagues broke out during this time, and there was very little knowledge of the Word of God,…until Martin Luther came along in the 1600’s with the truth of ‘Salvaton by Grace." In the next few centuries to come, little by little truths were being restored to the Body of Christ, and many of the historic revivals broke out with Finney, Wesley, and many others.

Not until the early 1900’s did we see an escalation of truth, and power and visitation of the Holy Spirit once again upon the church.

It was almost as though the prophetic clock stopped during the Dark Ages, and resumed as we approached the 20th century.

SEVENTH MONTH FEASTS – FEAST OF TRUMPETS (ROSH HASHANAH), YOM KIPPUR (DAY OF ATONEMENT) AND THE FEAST OF TABERNACLES (OR BOOTHS).

bulletAutumn Feasts speaking of Jesus second coming at the end of the age.

FEAST DAY OF TRUMPETS – ROSH HASHANAH

bulletBlowing of the shofar (trumpets) to announce the great day of Atonement (10 day period of time) Num. 10
bulletKnown as the Days of Awe; time of reflection, repentance, reflection on the last year.
bulletKnown as the "Head of the Year" of New Year on Jewish calendar – set by new moon
bulletTwo day feast – No one knows the day or the hour
bulletSpeaks of trial, testing, affliction, sifting to get the sin out of us
bulletTen days until Yom Kippur
bulletWood, hay, and stubble being burned out of our lives through affliction
bulletReputation gets burned up, pride burned out of us, all to produce repentance and purifying and perfecting our lives through the work of the Holy Spirit.
bulletTrumpets speak of prophetic voices on the Earth – healing, restoration, new worship released, Songs of the Lord
bulletTrumpets calling the assembly – produces a spiritual unity and breaks down walls of separation in the Body. Good example of this is what is happening with conferences in the last 20 years. The Body is assembling across denominational lines in large gatherings together all over the world.
bulletAt the same time, Israel is hearing the trumpet call to return to their homeland, and many are coming into the knowledge of salvation through Yeshua, Jesus as their Messiah.
bulletTrumpets are being sounded throughout the earth which are resulting in endtime events being fulfilled as prophesied they would – Israel becomes a nation in 1948, Jerusalem recaptured in 1967.

Feast of Trumpets represents a calling and preparing of Israel and the Church in the Last Days for Jesus return and the climax of the ages.

DAY OF ATONEMENT – YOM KIPPUR – Leviticus 23 and 16

It has been ‘legally" accomplished in Jesus’ blood but has not taken place experientially yet.

bulletRepresents national cleansing for Israel – corporate cleansing
bulletThe Priest would enter (according to Old Covenant) the Holy of Holies – sprinkles blood 7 times on the Mercy Seat – linen cloth worn – censer of incense taken behind the veil
bulletAtonement made for Israel – God revealed in the cloud.
bulletTwo goats used – 1 as the scapegoat for their sins; 1 goat used as the sin offering.
bulletThis is not a "feast day," but a day of Fasting – soul afflicted with fasting – 24 hour period – solemn fast declared
bulletNo manner of work was to be done – a Sabbath to the Lord
bulletIn the Church age – speaks of the removing of iniquity, carnality, sin out of the Bride, removing the sin nature, being perfected, made into a spotless, stainless Bride of Christ
bulletKnown as the "Day of Perfection."
bulletSpeaks of the Lord’s appearing – the incense, body blood sacrifice – In One Day, there would be cleansing
bulletSpeaks of Worship in fullness – a drawing back of the veil to see Him as He is
bulletCleansed through affliction – removal of filth – sanctification process

FEAST OF TABERNACLES: CANAAN LAND FEAST – THE PROMISE LAND FOR ISRAEL & BELIEVERS

bulletThe Feast of Tabernacles was a Canaan Land Feast – celebrated after Israel inherited the Promise Land after 40 years of wilderness wanderings.
bulletThe Feast commemorated in booths to represent their journey in the wilderness – also known as the "Feast of Ingathering."
bulletIngathering – a feast of Glory, the latter rains harvest – the fruit harvest – the wheat, oil, and wine – A Feast of Light: Jesus the Light of the World – John 7 Jesus celebrates the Feast of Tabernacles.
bulletThis feast speaks of a Victorious Bride – new covenant believers have repeated what Israel did. Israel wandered for 40 years in the wilderness – the Church wandered for 40 Jubilees, 2000 years since Jesus Birth.
bulletSpeaks of the revealing of God’s glory – the revealing of "the Father."
bulletSpeaks of "drawing back the veil to fullness of revelation of God
bulletUnveiled glory of God revealed.
bulletSpeaks of signs, wonders, worldwide harvest – Hebrews 12:22: We have not come to a mountain that burns with fire but to the Heavenly Jerusalem, to Zion.
bulletFulfillment of the ages – completion – the reaper will overtake the sower with massive harvest of souls
bulletEarly and latter rain come together – more saved in all of history. Mike Bickle says, 1 Billion souls will be saved, a tithe of the earth for all time.
bulletThe pouring of the pitchers of water representing God’s spirit poured out in fullness.
bulletFeast of Illumination – the Jews would come with torches, and the temple would be greatly illuminated, speaking of Jesus, the Light of the World.

SPEAKS OF A COMPLETION OF THE AGES, OUR BRIDEGROOM REVEALED – SPEAKS OF ENTERING INTO THE HOLY OF HOLIES AS COMPARED WITH THE TABERNACLE OF MOSES – THE 100 FOLD BELIEVER WHO HAS GONE ON TO PERFECTION, BY ALLOWING THE FULL WORKING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT IN THEIR LIVES. SPEAKS OF INTIMATE COMMUNION AND REVEALING OF OUR LORD IN FULLNESS AND GLORY
