What's In a Seed?  by Pastor Donna Kelly

What’s In a Seed?   By Donna Kelly/written July 19, 2008

Thursday Morning, July 17, 2008 at 3:33 am until 4:44 am – download in the night season

After service on Wednesday Night, we came home and went to sleep.  I happened to look at the clock at 3:33 am and then drift back into sleep.

From 3:33 am until I opened my eyes again at 4:44 am, the Lord was instructing me in my sleep.  It was not like being fully asleep, but I wasn’t fully awake either.  It was as though my heart was being instructed by the Lord during this time and He was giving me a download.

I pray right now that the Lord will give you insight as you read the following article.

First I have a scripture that came to mind the next morning:

Psalm 16:7 (New King James Version)

 7 I will bless the LORD who has given me counsel;
My heart also instructs me in the night seasons.

Psalm 63:6 (Amplified Bible)

6 When I remember You upon my bed and meditate on You in the night watches.

While my heart instructed me, the Lord in the night watches, He began to speak to me about fruit, harvest and seed and the principle of multiplication.

I heard Him say to me the following phrase:

“In every piece of fruit which is harvested, I have placed within it the provision for the next harvest.   Every harvest already has the seed within it to bring provision for the next harvest.”

Every harvest of the fruits of the trees and grains of the fields has within it the principle of multiplication.

Not only will that which has been harvested be food for you, but within that harvest is the principle of multiplication…seeds.

He showed me an apple that had been sliced into two sections.  Within the apple are a number of seeds.  It may have 6 or 8 seeds, whatever number of seeds, the apple is both food and yet it is pregnant to bring forth the next harvest in the next season and in a multiplied fashion.

Most people throw the apple core away, but in the “core” is the future harvest.

The Lord was drawing me parallels or giving me a parable about the principle of multiplication from our harvest and the seeds that we either throw away or sow back into the ground for our future harvest.

He was speaking to me that within every harvest that we receive of increase, the seeds are already within that harvest to provide for our next harvest.  Provision is in the harvest for your next harvest.

In the apple are seeds for a future harvest.  In the tomato there are seeds for a future harvest.  In a cherry is the seed for the future harvest.  In an ear of corn are the seeds for future harvest and …greatly multiplied harvest!!!

He also showed me that in America , we do not understand the value of a seed, because someone else does the growing for us.  A farmer understands the value of the seed, because he already knows that the seed is his future provision and crops.

He showed me that when we throw away the apple core, or the cherry pits or the watermelon seeds or any seed that gets in the way of our eating, we are casting away something that we don’t value, but that He has placed life within for a future and multiplied harvest.

Because our food in America is not grown by us as individuals, but by huge farms in the Midwest, or by fruit growers in Florida or California or other parts of the world, that we do not understand the value of the seed and because we do not understand the value of the seed, we do not understand the principle of sowing and reaping when it comes to natural seeds and spiritual seeds.  We have become consumers and not sowers.  We consume what others have grown and throw the seeds away.

He showed me that in every seed is the principle of multiplication.  One seed may be planted and one tree may grow, but on that one tree thousands of pieces of fruit will come forth in the life of that tree and within the thousands of pieces of fruit that come forth on the tree there will be multiplied thousands of seeds from that fruit which potentially would grow millions of trees with multiplied millions and millions of pieces of fruit with billions of seed and multiplied billions and billions of trees and so on and so on and so on.

It is the same with all fruits, vegetables, grains, birds of the air, fish of the sea, every creeping thing on the earth and man.  Just look at how the whole earth is filled with people from two who were formed by God, Adam and Eve.

He spoke to me that He has built into everything of creation the Principle of Multiplication and He announces it in Genesis.

He showed me that if we understood the “power of the seed” and the principle of multiplication that He has set in order on the earth, that we would explode with giving hearts.

He showed me that within ALL our increase, the seed was present within our harvest.  In the church today, we have a mindset of tithing the 10%, and not even everyone is obedient to do that,  but we don’t really understand the seed and the multiplication principle.

Just as with all plants, fruits and vegetables, animals and humans, there is seed for “reproduction and multiplication” there is seed within all of your increase.

He showed me an ear of corn.  We look at an ear of corn and see food.  We see butter and salt on that corn, or other seasonings that make the corn taste good to us, corn on the cob and so forth.  But really an ear of corn is an ear of seeds.  If you dry out the ear of corn, you have,… I don’t know, maybe hundreds of seeds to plant for a future harvest.

Then He showed me the ear of corn mostly eaten.  He said, “this is what most people do with the seed that I give them.  They eat their seed instead of sowing it for a multiplied harvest in the next season.”  “They think that I gave them seed to consume, instead of sowing for the next season.”  I heard Him say, I give you bread for eating, but seed for sowing.  Bread will not grow in the ground, but seed will.

Now, the Lord did say that every tree of the field and herb of the ground was for food, but I am giving you a principle here that He was showing me in parabolic form.  He used the ear of corn as an example for me, a word picture to show me what most of us do with the increase that God has given us.  We consume it.

In America ,  and the church, we are a nation of “consumers” and we have lost the understanding of the seed and sowing because we are too busy consuming and someone else does the growing.  I felt like the Lord wanted the church to begin to have a paradigm shift when it comes to our harvest and what we do with it.  I felt like He was showing me that if we “got this” there would be no end to the blessing that would begin to come upon the church.

Many today in the church know they are to tithe and to give offering, but they don’t really understand the principle of the seed, multiplication and real sowing and reaping, partly because most of us today are not farmers.  We are just consumers.

So every time we receive increase, wages, blessing from the Lord, we want to “eat it all up” when the Lord has made provision within that increase to sow for the next season.  Your wages are no different than anything else that comes forth from the earth in creation, because your wages represent labor that you have sown.  Your labor that you have sown yielded a harvest.  The harvest is your wage or provision or paycheck.  But just like the ear of corn, we are not supposed to “eat the whole thing,” but we are to allow the Lord to show us the “seed” that is in our harvest that is meant to be planted for provision for the next season, the multiplied harvest of the next season.

The seed must be sown into good ground to bring forth the multiplied blessing of the next season.  Seed yields after it’s kind.  Whatever a man sows, that shall he also reap.  Kind after kind.  Apples will grow apples, not peanuts.

Because we have been raised with the mindset of a consumer, we don’t understand the principle of seed for the next harvest.  We throw seeds away, that a farmer would quickly want to snatch up.

The Seed is Everywhere!!
I felt like the Lord showed me that if we had a paradigm shift to see the value of the seed, we would be looking for the seed in everything we have.  In all our clothing there is seed for sowing.  In all of our shoes, there is seed for sowing.  In all of our possessions there is seed for sowing.  In our books, CDs and libraries, there is seed for sowing.  In our basements and garages, there is seed for sowing.  In our paychecks there is seed for sowing.  Maybe in you pantry at home there is seed for sowing.  Remember, God does not give any harvest of anything to us that grows in the earth without providing seed within it for the next harvest and future provision.  All things in the earth have been created by God and there is nothing we have that hasn’t come from Him.

If we grab hold of this, we will catch such a spirit of giving that nothing could stop us.  Your seed is in your harvest which is provision for the next season!  Whatever increase you have right now has seed in it.  Your paycheck has seed in it.  Not only is it provision, but it will be multiplied because God has set the principle in motion of multiplication from the very beginning in everything in the earth.

If we understood seeds, multiplication and harvest, we would never, never, never see famine in our midst.  It’s all about finding out what the seeds are and sowing them!!!  Are you getting this?

The Lord continued with this explanation and teaching with me until 4:44 am.  I opened my eyes and looked at the clock and it was 4:44 am.  I thought to myself, “That is so strange that He would begin to speak to me at 3:33 am and finish at 4:44 am.”   I didn’t think this was a coincidence.  The next day, as I was pondering all of this, I took my calculator and subtracted 333 from 444 and the solution was 111.  I went to Genesis 1:11 and read the following verse.

Genesis 1:11
“Then God said, “Let the Earth bring forth grass, the herb that yields seed and the fruit tree that yields fruit according to it’s kind, whose seed is in itself, on the earth, and it was so.

During the night the Lord also spoke the following passages to me:

(not in their entirety, but a summation of these verses which I later went back to and read)

Genesis 1:20-29 (New King James Version)

20 Then God said, “Let the waters abound with an abundance of living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the face of the firmament of the heavens.” 21 So God created great sea creatures and every living thing that moves, with which the waters abounded, according to their kind, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. 22 And God blessed them, saying, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth.” 23 So the evening and the morning were the fifth day.
24 Then God said, “Let the earth bring forth the living creature according to its kind: cattle and creeping thing and beast of the earth, each according to its kind”; and it was so. 25 And God made the beast of the earth according to its kind, cattle according to its kind, and everything that creeps on the earth according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.
26 Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all[a] the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” 27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. 28 Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”
29 And God said, “See, I have given you every herb that yields seed which is on the face of all the earth, and every tree whose fruit yields seed; to you it shall be for food.

When He gave these passages to me in the night, He was telling me that He has set in motion the Principle of Multiplication for everything in creation.  Multiplication is His idea and it is for everything that lives in the Earth.

He also spoke to me the following the next morning as I pondered all that He spoke the night before:

Genesis 8:22
“While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, winter and summer, and day and night shall not cease.”

That tells me that as long as there is life on this earth and the earth exists, the principle of multiplication will remain.  He set it in motion and nothing can stop it,…unless that is… we do not plant seeds.  If we do not plant seeds, than nothing will grow.  We must stop consuming our seeds and throwing our seeds away and sow them into the “harvest!”   In every harvest is the seed!!  In every apple is the seed.  In every orange is the seed.  In every watermelon is the seed.  In every paycheck is our seed.

Your future harvest is in the seed that is in your current harvest.  Ask the Lord what your seed is that is to be sown and you will start seeing the multiplied harvest.

If we do not sow the seeds of our increase, there will be no multiplication.  My goodness, even the weeds in our lawn increase like crazy because of the seeds!!  How much more if we could get this, grab a hold of it and put it into practice in our lives in the Body of Christ and in the church!!!  There would be nothing that we couldn’t do for God!!!

God wants to bless everyone and increase them, but He must get us to recognize the seed, ask Him what our seed is and then be faithful to sow the seed so that we can see the harvest that He desires to bring forth.

The Lord also gave me the following passage.
2 Corinthians 9:10-11 (New King James Version)

10 Now may[a] He who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for food, supply and multiply the seed you have sown and increase the fruits of your righteousness, 11 while you are enriched in everything for all liberality, which causes thanksgiving through us to God.

God is the One Who supplies your seed, bread and increase.  God is the One Who MULTIPLIES what is sown and increases our fruit.  God is the One Who wants to enrich us in everything for ALL LIBERALITY, which will cause thanksgiving through us to God!!!!!

What Seed do you have in your hand?  Your future harvest is in the seed you now have in your hand and the multiplication of it.  The seed is in your harvest and your harvest is in your seed.
Selah, calmly pause and think of that!

Jesus stated the following as He spoke of His own death and resurrection to come, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone, but if it dies, it produces much grain.  He who loves his life will lose it, but he who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life.”    John 12: 24-25

If we hold onto our seed, it will never produce a future harvest.  It will remain alone.  The principle is true of all seeds.  Jesus was a seed and look at the millions of Christians who came forth after He as a seed went into the ground.

What is in your hands?  God wants to so increase you that you won’t know what happened.  Remember, the Lord put the principle in place in the beginning and as long as the earth remains, seedtime and harvest will continue.  That means seedtime and MULTIPLICATION in that harvest.  He established it and it will be as long as the earth remains.

If we love our life to the point of withholding, we will lose it, but if we lose what is ours for the sake of the Kingdom, we will keep it for eternal life.

God wants to bless us.  He wants us to catch the spirit of giving and sowing.  He wants to set His people free from lack and poverty.  He wants to supply for you in the midst of economic trouble in the earth and you will have plenty in time of famine.

What’s in a seed?  Everything you need and everything the Kingdom needs and everything needed for every good work that God will call you to do.   How many apple trees are in just one seed?

How many souls are in just one seed that you sow? The seed that God has given to you to sow is to fund the end-time harvest!  The seed will multiply when you sow it into souls for eternity!!!  We must ask the Lord where our seeds are to sow into lives!!

The Lord showed me one other thing.  When we can see it from the perspective of the Word of God and the revelation of the thing, we will have faith to see it come to pass.  Many times, we are obedient to do what God says, but really don’t understand the blessing and the principle behind it.  Once we can “see it” than we can believe for it and “have it.”  That is what He showed me about this revelation.  When we can see it, we will have the faith to see it come to pass.   The things revealed are OURS!!!

Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.  If it is revealed, then it is ours.  The Lord is revealing this understanding so that the church can step into it and be set free of lack and poverty and step into the Principle of Multiplication that He established when He created the earth.  The Principle is there just as the law of gravity is there.  We just have to grab hold of it and step into it to see its fruit produced in our lives and the lives of the Kingdom of God for His work to be done on the earth.

What’s In a Seed?  The the provision for your next harvest is in the seed you have now.  Souls are depending on our faithfulness to sow seeds for eternity.  Everything you need and everything the Kingdom needs is in the seed you have in your hand.  The principle of multiplication is God's principle from the foundations of the earth.  Ask the Lord where you seed is and be faithful to sow it and see what He does.  Blessings!
